Downtown Florence, though not the same hustle and bustle it was before the last war, is still very busy with the people of Florence going about their daily lives.

The community center, as far as people can tell, used to be just that back before the war. It hasn't been refurbished or rebuilt, so there are parts of the walls that are very delicate and could crumble at any moment, holes in odd places with bad patch jobs, peeling wallpaper, and shaky structure. It still works perfectly as a community center, though, and is quite popular.

Even as the world struggles to get back on its feet, the hospital still functions. Supplies are limited but those that work there are doing their best to keep everyone healthy and alive.

Although a little decrepit and lacking a small amount in books, the library is still a book sanctuary and a good place to go if you need peace and quiet and a nice selection of books to read.

Settled almost directly in the middle of Florence and of modest size is the park. The river runs right through it and several bridges cross it. It runs through a small pond and in the summer it's very popular for relaxation an picnics.

While the police now is no longer the same as before the war, it still serves to protect the community. The employees show extreme prejudice toward mutations, regretfully, and likely won't employ them and calls from mutations are of the lowest priority.

The newspaper and the radio station of Florence are located quite close to each other, so it's easy to hop from one to the other to collect your daily dose of news in person.

Settled on a forested hill just outside of Florence sits a massive observatory. The interior was left untouched by the war and by nature, so while the exterior seems dilapidated it is still quite functional. It's currently owned and maintained by someone but they are always seeking help to expand Florence's knowledge of space.

The local, large, self sustaining farm that supplies all the produce to Florence as well as most of the meat and animal products. An offshoot of the river runs through the farm with bridges crossing it that lead to the apple orchard or the pumpkin patch, which are only open when they're in season.

Florence is a coastal town and has a vast, long beach running the length of the town. There are no life guards and you're expected to pick up all of your trash. There is no curfew regarding swimming and beach hours, but visit at your own risk.

Just outside of Florence is a massive empty field. Townsfolk theorize it used to be a massive corn field but Misty Rivers made it pointless. Periodically, a traveling carnival may swing through town and set up here.
