world war ii ended in september 1945. in the aftermath of the war, several chemicals and toxins the warring countries had been developing to use against each other got released into the world's water supply.

initially, no one noticed anything aside from a slightly abnormal taste to the water. but as the years passed, strange mutations in humans started showing up. at first it just showed up in babies, but full grown adults started showing minute mutations. when it became apparent that it was world wide, fingers started getting pointed at various governments and militaries.

it started as arguing in the united nations, and ended in the third world war starting in 1949. the war went on for five years, and it was ugly. nukes were launched, and the third world war became nuclear. fingers were pointed yet again as to who dropped the first nuke, but no one would admit to it. more nukes fell.

so much loss so soon after another, so much devastation. when the dust settled in 1954, whatever untainted humans that had existed before the war were gone. left in the world were humans, cursed with strange abilities and mutations.

as these mutated and powerful humans attempted to rebuild, a small technology recovery team discovered certain studies the american government had be conducting on creatures and humans in secret, and that some scientists that survived the war, though tainted, were attempting to continue these studies.

their studies consisted of splicing human genes with animal genes, and after the wars, mutated human genes with mutated animal genes. they succeeded, and their creations were... well, considering the state of the world, not entirely abnormal but certainly unwanted. the recovery team, however, felt it was only right to let these creatures out of their prison and into the new world.

the humans were incredibly wary, and even 64 years later they are still very wary of these creatures even though they've helped populate the world again.

in a small town in washington state called florence, humans, mutations, and all sorts of creatures alike have settled to try to make the best of this new situation.

this life is forever. it's everlasting. it's forever...

it's eviternity.
